Curacao

Spent the day shopping in Curacao today. It was the coolest little Island. Every house was painted a different colour, and all bright. The history is that when Curacao was being built up the Governor insisted that everyone's house be painted something other then white, and must be re-painted every so often (can't remember how long he has proclaimed). So everyone followed this and later on in life, after this man moved on from his position as Governor they found out that he at his point of power owned the only paint shop in Curacao!!!! Greedy bugger! I had a great Cappacino, with friends, sitting by the waterfront and baking in the sun. See a pattern here???

That's too bad that you have to do those kind of nasty things while you're working Meg! I so pity you.

Mego - very nice picture - it was also nice to receive a bit of history behind the picture. I think if you look further you may see that the sir name of the said Govenor was "Dumonto" I believe it was in his family that they first identified a stray gene known as the pigminto gene. As the story goes this rare loose gene caused the host to see life in vivid colour. Thus explaining his unusal request for the city of Curacao. This may be better understood if you consider that the name Curacao if mixed up gives you the name RAUCAOC - ( that explains all )
