Video's for Daddy

So finally I was able to get these videos up. The first one is from swimming yesterday with Granny and the second is Mekhi chatting all about his day at the pool. I've posted these for the family to hear and see Mekhi as well as for Kellon to do the same.

Mekhi the Fish

Today was a very busy day in the world of Mekhi. We went to Baby Group at the Library and this time there were quite a few babies Mekhi's age. It was nice, Mekhi talked away to anyone who would listen and spent about 15 minutes chillin in a Bumbo chair, turns out he loved it. Then we met Granny at the pool for a 30 minute swimming lesson. It was great, Mekhi was so relaxed int he water, he just loved it. Basically once we got the lifejacket on him he was content to drift around, kicking his legs like a frog. We did make a video but unfortunately blogger has not been cooperative so i'll try to blog it later.
Now Mekhi was pretty darn exhausted after his swimming lesson so he literally passed out on the table by the pool.

Two Months Old!

Well as of yesterday Mekhi is two months old. And wow, I was just thinking of the major accomplishments he's had in 1 months, I swear to god he'll be moving out pretty soon haha just kidding. No but really it has been an eventful month as you all know because (time to pat myself on the back) i've been so good at blogging lately! So...upon celebrating being two months old Mekhi had a few faces he would like to show everyone. ..

The Plan

Well I have been asked many times by many people what the plan is for the future of Megan, Kellon and Mekhi. I realized that maybe I don't communicate all that much (haha), and usually just go off and do things without telling people. So I decided that I may as well put the plan out there! Hopefully this doesn't jinx it hee hee.
So Kellon is finishing a 8 month contract onboard the Coral Princess. While he's doing that me and Mekhi are living with my Dad and Susan (rent is just to darn expensive in Kenora and no one will rent out an apartment for 6 months). As I am not working right now Kellon is supporting us 100% financially. Basically he puts half of each pay aside and that is for me and Mekhi. Then he sends it to me. Now I've been using what I need and putting the rest aside into savings accounts for our move to Grenada. I have to say, Kellon is the most amazing man i've ever known. He's busting his ass, doing a job that he absolutely hates so that he can not only support me and Mekhi, but save money to get us a home in Grenada when he gets off the ship. And it breaks his heart that he is missing so many of Mekhi's "firsts" but he knows that as of December, it will all be worth it.
Oh yeah so Kellon gets off the ship in December and the plan is that me and Mekhi wil move to Grenada before Christmas. Now as a Canadian Citizen, me and Mekhi can only stay in Grenada for 3 months, so as soon as we get there I am going to apply for extensions on that stay for both of us, and may be getting dual citizenship for Mekhi (he will then be both Canadian/Grenadian). As long as the extension comes through, then we stay, if it doesn't well then we have to leave the country. But can return again within the month. So we'll just see how that goes. I have spoken to the Grenadian Embassy in Toronto and they told me I cannot apply for an extension until I get there, so we wait.
Anyways Kellon is hoping to get in with a hotel he has already worked for, we're hoping I won't have to work for a while so I can take care of Mekhi, but if I have to then I will no problem, there are plenty of older ladies that take in children (usually only 2) as day care. And seeing as its a small Island, Kellon knows them and we'll feel comfortable with them. After all, they will probably teach me a lot about raising a baby on the Island.
I hope this answers any questions that my loved ones may have regarding future plans for my family. I wish that you all knew Kellon, because he is a wonderful man, totally supportive and will do whatever it takes to take care of me and Mekhi, he has proven that already. Moving to Grenada may seem scary or risky to some, but it is an amazing country, beautiful with great potential and Mekhi will gain so much by his experience being raised there for however long we stay. Anyways...long blog with no pics, sorry, but thats the plan :)

Swimming at the Beach and Tummy Time

Well I decided that it was time to bring Mekhi to a local beach and put him in the water. I will admit, it was darn cold so it was a quick in and out so we don't have any pictures of him in the water but I do have a picture of him out of the water ever so serious (Thank you Devon for the crocodile towel, he loves it, very warm).

Now we've also been having "tummy time" and Mekhi didn't really enjoy it at first but he's getting the hang of it, very strong arms on this boy and his feet are totally ready, he pushes out with them as though he's gonna go somewhere haha. Too cute though.

Mekhi and Ireland's Sleepover

Well yesterday was Steph and Matt's anniversary so myself and Brandee (my ever so willing friend) decided that we would supervise Mekhi and Ireland's first sleepover. Lots of fun was had, the kids giggled and smiled all night long, until the wee hours and then decided that 5am was a good time to begin again. Here are a few pics and a priceless video of Ireland making Mekhi stronger. Seems she believes that because he doesn't have an older brother like Kaden who toughens her up, she will do so for Mekhi. It is hilarious, and never fails, if they are laying together, this will happen.

Finally, A Smile on Camera!

Well Mekhi has been smiling now for a few weeks, however every time the camera comes out he cries. Its been such a tease as I have not been able to send a pic of the smile to Kellon or to anyone, he's making a liar out of me!!!! However..."oh happy day" this morning I WON! I caught him, on camera and all stages of smiles, so here is my proof, Mekhi has one beautiful smile!

And here is the money shot!

The Zoo

Yesterday Me, Mekhi, Steph, Matt, Kaden, Ireland and Granny went to the Winnipeg Zoo. Driving there we hit major rain and were so worried, but once in the City the sun came out. Which really didn't work our for the animals cause they all hid out in the shade!!!! Hence most of my pics are of the peeps, animals weren't photogenic! However Steph's blog has many animal pics, guess she is just far more patient with the animals then I was haha.
