Grenada Independance Day

Today was Grenada's Independance Day and we left the house early to take part in the festivities. It was really great, we went to the Stadium where the police, coast guard, prison guards, cadets, and various other officials from the Island were all in their dress uniforms. Now that wasn't the really awesome part, everyone there was dressed in the Grenada colors gold, red and green and when I say dressed I don't just mean a t-shirt, most were dressed in dresses, suits, and full outfits sporting their national colors. It was so cool to see. We did our part and wore what we could, Mekhi sporting green shorts and red shirt with a grenadian arm band on, me in yellow with a Grenada scarf on my head and Kell wore his grenadian scarf and a maroon (he says its red) shirt. LOL, Anyways lots of fun had by all.

PS after looking at our pics, I realized we didn't get any of the peeps in the real Grenadian outfits, sorry, but look in the background of most photos and you'll see the colors.

In the below pic, the man in the grey'ish suit is the Prime Minister

You look totally into the Caribbean lifestyle.

We should dress up on Canada Day too.

The stands are so empty. Where are all the other patriotic Grenadians?

Most of the peeps were in the upper stands because it was raining most of the ceremony. And then others only came into town for the parade
