The Zoo

Yesterday Me, Mekhi, Steph, Matt, Kaden, Ireland and Granny went to the Winnipeg Zoo. Driving there we hit major rain and were so worried, but once in the City the sun came out. Which really didn't work our for the animals cause they all hid out in the shade!!!! Hence most of my pics are of the peeps, animals weren't photogenic! However Steph's blog has many animal pics, guess she is just far more patient with the animals then I was haha.

More Updates

Well Mekhi was weighed in after 2 weeks since the last time and he is now 11pounds 13 ounzes, still 23 inches long. My little boy is getting so big!!!! Not really much news, we're still enjoying the summer getting to hang out with friends and family, but we'll sure notice when Steph, Matt, Kaden and Ireland are gone as they are often Mekhi's playmates, guess I had better make friends with kids now!Good news is, December is coming! Oh and Kellon will be flying myself and Mekhi back to Vancouver at the end of August so that we can have one last visit before the ship goes to Panama. Can't believe how many planes Mekhi will be on before he's even 1 years old! I'm putting in a few random pics of our recent days.

Family Day/Random Photos

Well this is a few pics jumbled into one posting, Amanda took some really cool pics of Mekhi while we were in Vancouver, she always gets the greatest shots.

And yesterday we had some great play time with Ireland and Kaden (oh yeah, Steph and Matt, and Grandpa and Grandma Cain were there as well, of course the kids were the stars of the show!)

Our Trip to Vancouver

We're back! And what can I say Mekhi is the most amazing little traveler there ever was. He is so content being in the sling while in the airport and travelling that way and then in the wrap when we were wandering in Vancouver. He just chilled and took in the sights. Amanda picked us up on the first day and her and Mekhi bonded and we chilled out by the pool at the hotel, Mekhi slept through most of that!

Then the day finally came, Kellon's ship came in and me and Mekhi were there to meet him as he was wheeling passengers (old ones haha) off the ship. We had a great 6 hours (yup thats all we got), walked around the ship so Kell could show off Mekhi and then went to his Cabin so they could have some one on one time and then over to the hotel for lunch and more one on one time as well. It was an amazing day, far to short and absolutely heartbreaking when it ended. But I wouldn't have traded it for the world. Everyone who saw Mekhi said "man he looks like Kellon, just lighter, sorry Meg, not like you". Good thing I have the scar to prove he's mine haha. Anyways here are a few pics of our family.

Mekhi is One Month Old!

Well he made it, one month old today! I cannot even believe that he is the same baby, I look at his newborn pics and he looks so different already! So today we went swimming with Granny, Steph, Matt, Kaden and Ireland. This is the very first time that Mekhi has been swimming and all in all he did very well. He did cry a bit but not earth shattering, he'll be a fish in no time. Then when we went to have a shower, he LOVED it, kept trying to put his head under the rush of water to lick it! Hilarious I couldn't stop laughing.
We do have a crap load of pics of Kaden and Ireland as well but I figured Steph and Matt would want to blog those before I post them all over the Internet hee hee.


Another first, I went and got my hair done today for our trip to Vancouver and left Mekhi with Auntie Steph and Granny. Thought I could handle it, however I cried when I had to leave him, cried all the way into town and called Steph at home as soon as I got to the salon. Turns out I'm a major PANSY! haha. Oh well I love my little boy, what can I do???

Whats New?

Well thought I should send some updated pictures. We've been pretty busy hanging out with friends and family. Mekhi is a very content little boy, but he sure lets me know when its bed time haha. We're leaving for Vancouver on Sunday and super pumped woo hoo! Oh yeah...Mekhi was weighed at the "mommy" gathering in town today, he is 11 pounds 1 ounze and 23 inches long, growing like a weed.






We've also got to spend a lot of time with Kaden and Ireland (oh and Steph and Matt haha) so we got some cute bonding moment shots as well more with Ireland as Kaden is less likely to stand still.

So I have fallen in love with my Aquarium swinging chair, it makes it possible for me to shower on a daily basis which is such an important thing haha. Mekhi has fallen in love with the orange fish, there is a blue whale on the other side but he doesn't seem to like it nearly as much, the orange fish is more his "thang".

We were also at Granny's house and tried very hard to get a pic of all the grandchildren together. Unfortunately it just didn't happen with my camera, I got 2.5 of them, I think Steph got one of all 3 in the end.

16 Days and Growing

Mekhi is growing and growing, had his first Dr. Apointment in Kenora, he now weighs 10'8" so is moving up now. He's got so many facial features now, pretty sure the first smile is on the way. He's got such a personality, happy baby, and a bit of a night man (couldn't take after his mother could he haha). Everything is going well in Kenora and Mekhi is loving hanging with his cousins, he got to watch them swim today, and in 3 weeks when I can get in the water Mekhi will be definately in that water with them.

We just booked our ticket to fly to Vancouver on the 20th, finally Kellon and Mekhi will get to meet, i'm so excited!

Well the flight was amazing, Mekhi slept the entire 2 hours to Ottawa, woke up, slept from the plane to Winnipeg, woke up and slept the 2 hours from Winnipeg to Kenora. Needless to say it was a long night though with a very alert baby! We're now at Dad's place, chiling and getting into a few routines so that life is a bit easier for our young travelor. Not much really happening, had his first bath at home, went and saw his first baseball game (Grandpa played), went to the Olive Garden for the first time (yum), got to chill with Ireland and became the only man involved in an ladies evening. Fun and games in the world of Mekhi hee hee.

I'm Home!

Hello all finally a message from me, Megan! Yup we broke out of the hospital yesterday. I informed the duty nurse that whether or not the doctor signs the release, me and Mekhi WILL be leaving the hospital. She was really understanding hha. No for real though, to much hospital time, I hated it and Mekhi couldn't sleep (other babies were pissing him off haha) so home we came. No surprise that we were rebel rousers while there, with the help of my loving sister, Steph, we pulled out my IV, saying that it was Mekhi that did it, reason, didn't want it, i'm a big girl, I can drink water. Mind you this was after C Section, I complied until then haha. And the day after the C Section I informed them that I wanted the cathader out as well and so it came out too (this time thank God they helped). Anyways, for sure they will remember me and Mekhi at that hospital haha. I'm posting our release picture, look at the relief in our eyes! Big thanks to those who showed love to us while in the confines of the hospital and major love to my sisters and Mum who sat beside me while my beautiful Mekhi came into the world.

Update: Picture would not attach, I will try in a new blog, this is now Sunday, the day before me and Mekhi make our trip home! YEAH! We are so super syked, can hardly sleep. See you all soon. (or later depending on where you are).

Welcome Mekhi

Megan was induce this morning.... after all day on petosin Mekhi had not and wouldn't decend, knowing the size of him now that all makes sense... so megan was put into a C-section where Mekhi finally came out with a few tugs..... he is georgeous big and health and looks alot like his daddy and mummy... mummy and baby are doing well and should be sleeping now.

I am sooooo sorry about the incestuous comment...regarding the weight pool and your bid being from Nick and Mel (obviously my two favorite cousins). Has been amended although Nick did do some time time in Keswick as a baby! No judging though, so did I haha. Aunt Cheryl is sitting here laughing her ass of as I write this. Sure hope your not now wishing a 12 pounder on me!

Plan B

Well aparently I am totally ready to have a baby, but Mekhi seems to have other plans. He was planning on staying until he's 13 i'm sure. So my midwife has sent a request to the on-call doctor for next week (Monday or Tuesday) to have me enduced. Pros and cons to this situation, but at least making progress. Although I am well aware that he could decide to come out today, tomorrow, whatever, to keep my sanity I am announcing that he will be enduced next week and do not believe he will come out before that.
Aparently this kid is just as stubborn as its mother, damn I must have been a shit as a child haha.

Baby Weight Pool

Well everyone has been putting their bets in so I figured I would open the pool to the family. The pool is for Mekhi's weight at birth. The only stats we have is that Kellon was in the high 7 pounds when he was born and I was in the 8 pound range when I was born. Using those stats...let the betting begin ..the prize, ever lasting RESPECT hee hee hee.
